Every year, Young American for Freedom (YAF) celebrates the anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. This year's event was pushed back one day due to weather. An anti-YAF student, evidently overwhelmed by the freedom of expression, came out in an attempt to attack free speech by creating a disturbance, spraying spray paint on people, including himself, and then destroying the mock Berlin Wall.
This incident caught attention of the Young America's Foundation. The YAF headquarters wrote an article: https://yaf.org/news/ironic-leftist-tears-down-yafs-berlin-wall-display-at-michigan-tech/
A shorter version of the story was also published by National Review.
The idea of free speech during the Berlin Wall event did not find support among progressive faculty on campus. One of them, Carl Blair, openly criticized YAF and the YAF event during one of his lectures. Fortunately, a student was brave enough to record the professor's discriminatory statement. Based on the professor's remarks, the Young America's Foundation wrote another article: https://yaf.org/news/not-a-fan-of-freedom-michigan-tech-professor-calls-yafers-dumb-racist-twits-for-celebrating-fall-of-berlin-wall/
Update (11/17): This incident has now garnered the attention of Fox News.
