K-Day – A Success for Students Promoting Freedoms on Campus

September 9, 2022

Keweenaw Day, popularly known as K-Day, is an annual Friday afternoon fair at Michigan Tech held during the week of Labor Day. Typically, K-Day event takes place outside of campus, in beautiful surroundings of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Unfortunately, this year, due to rain and strong winds, K-Day was hosted in the Student Development Complex.

On September 9th of this year, more than 150 registered student organizations and groups presented their programs and planned activities for the current academic year to several thousand students. Huskies for America, along with representatives from the Leadership Institute and Young Americans for Freedom (YAF), assisted the MTU chapters of YAF and Turning Point USA (TP-USA) in promoting individual freedom, limited government, free enterprise and traditional values. Both YAF and TP-USA attracted more than 200 new student members who support traditional values, freedom and capitalism. Huskies for America is proud of this success, and is fully dedicated to work with YAF and TP-USA to continue the efforts to restoring conservative voices and freedom of expression on Michigan Tech's campus.
